Connie Francis, American Singer, Dies at 87

According to cinemadrame news agency, American singer and actress Connie Francis has passed away at the age of 87. She rose to fame in the 1950s and 1960s, known for her song “Pretty Little Baby.” Earlier in July, she canceled a performance due to what was described as “severe pain.”
The song “Pretty Little Baby” had recently gained popularity on TikTok and Instagram, with several celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, using it.
Francis reacted to this newfound popularity in May, telling People magazine that she didn’t even remember the song: “I had to listen to it to remember it. It’s truly wonderful that a 63-year-old song has resonated with millions of people. It feels really good.”
She had other popular songs, including “Stupid Cupid,” “Who’s Sorry Now,” and “Frankie.” “Pretty Little Baby” was not well-received upon its initial release, but in April of this year, it garnered 17,000 US listeners per week, and a month later, it reached 2.4 million streams per week, according to Billboard.
Francis, who was born in Newark, New Jersey, was a victim of sexual assault in 1974. She later received $2.5 million in compensation after claiming that the Howard Johnson’s hotel failed to provide her with adequate security.
She also had acting roles in several feature films, including “Follow the Boys” and “Where the Boys Are.”
